Hillary Clinton: Giffords ‘incredible’

Hillary Clinton and former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.) appeared together Monday night at the Glamour magazine Women of the Year Awards in New York.

The former secretary of State tweeted a photo standing with Giffords and her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly. The two were dubbed the “couple of the year.”

Clinton was a presenter at the event.

Others honored include Lady Gaga, actress Kerry Washington, Barbara Streisand and Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban when she was 15 for her efforts to educate girls.

Earlier this year, Giffords and her husband launched the gun control advocacy group Americans for Responsible Solutions. Giffords resigned from Congress in January 2012, a year after she was shot in a mass shooting in Tucson, Ariz.

Clinton stepped down from her Cabinet post in February this year and has since appeared at a number of public events.

She’s viewed as the Democrats’ likely presidential nominee in 2016 if she decides to run.
