Report: Nov. O-Care site enrollment near 100K
About 100,000 people signed up for ObamaCare through HealthCare.gov in November, according to a report from Bloomberg News.
An unidentified source familiar with the progress of the website’s implementation revealed the figure, which encompasses those who have successfully selected a plan.
The number represents four times the number of consumers who signed up through the website in October, and could be encouraging news for the Obama administration.
Originally, officials had hoped to sign up 800,000 people in the first two months following the launch of the federal exchange on Oct. 1.
{mosads}In November, the administration disclosed that 106,185 people had enrolled in the new health insurance program during October. Less than 27,000 of them signed up using the federal portal.
According to the Bloomberg source, the enrollment figures also represent a gradual increase in sign-ups even before the repair of HealthCare.gov was completed.
The team tasked with fixing the malfunctioning website said in a progress report Sunday that they’ve made “dramatic progress” since October.
Jeff Zients, the former director of the Office of Management and Budget who was assigned to overseeing the fix-it process, said, “The bottom line—HealthCare.gov on December 1st is night and day from where it was on October 1st.”
