At the opening to his meeting with technology CEOs at the White House, the president lobbied Netflix CEO Reed Hastings for an early peek at the second season, slated to debut in February.

{mosads}After being asked about doing a cameo for the series, Obama said that he wished “things were that ruthlessly efficient.”
“It’s true. I was looking at Kevin Spacey, I was thinking man, this guy’s getting a lot of stuff done,” Obama quipped.
In the series, Spacey plays Francis Underwood, a fictitious House majority whip who manipulates his way to the vice presidency through a series of backroom political deals, lies and even the murder of a Pennsylvania congressman.
Spacey participated in a spoof based on the series at last year’ White House Correspondents’ Dinner, urging the the assembled politicians to learn from his methods.
“I may lie, cheat and intimidate to get what I want, but at least I get the job done,” he said in the clip. “So I hope some of you are taking notes.”
Obama is meeting with executives from leading tech companies to discuss how to improve federal IT infrastructure following the botched rollout of the ObamaCare website. The assembled CEOs are also expected to press the president on National Security Agency surveillance programs that rely on their technologies.
