Huelskamp says his family was rejected by ObamaCare

Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.) said Monday that he and his family tried to enroll in the D.C. healthcare exchange, but were rejected.

“Since 12:05 a.m. on Oct. 1, I have been attempting to comply with ObamaCare. Finally, I was able to submit successfully our family’s application for the ObamaCare exchange on Dec. 9,” Huelskamp said. “Now, like millions of my fellow Americans, my family and I have been removed from a plan we liked and then been rejected by ObamaCare.”

{mosads}The administration conceded that there were “technical glitches” with the healthcare exchange enrollment website after it launched on Oct. 1, but the White House vowed to fix the problem by Nov. 30, nearly one month before the enrollment deadline of Christmas Eve.

The website has seen a surge in enrollment as the deadline drew near. Obama even enrolled himself over the weekend after arriving in Hawaii for the holidays.

“In just nine days, Americans who have been promised coverage by Obama may show up to their doctor and find out there is no ObamaCare coverage,” Huelskamp said. “While he and his family vacation in Hawaii at taxpayer expense, Obama’s likely response to this crisis for American families will be as meaningless as his symbolic ‘sign-up’ today for ObamaCare.”

Huelskamp is one of many Republicans who have called for a full repeal of the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare.
