Obamas send best wishes to Barbara Bush
President Obama and his wife on Wednesday wished former first lady Barbara Bush well after she was hospitalized for respiratory issues the night before.
The couple said their thoughts and prayers are with the wife of former President George H.W. Bush.
{mosads}“Michelle and I send our best wishes to Mrs. Bush for a speedy recovery,” Obama said in a statement. “Barbara is blessed to have both a loving, supportive family by her side and a vibrant spirit that we hope will have her feeling better soon. I know I speak for Americans everywhere when I say that our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and her family on this New Year’s Day.”
Bush was hospitalized in Houston, Texas, on Monday night. A statement released by the family on Tuesday night said she is in “great spirits, has already received visits from her husband and family and is receiving fantastic care.”
Former President Clinton also wished the former first lady well over Twitter on Wednesday.
“I’ll be rooting for Barbara Bush’s full recovery while she’s rooting for Baylor today. All my best to her and @GeorgeHWBush,” he wrote.
Baylor’s football team lost to the University of Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl on Wednesday night.
