Republicans blast Obama for barely mentioning O-Care

Several GOP senators chided President Obama for barely mentioning his signature legislative achievement during Tuesday’s State of the Union address.

“Surprisingly the president didn’t talk much about ObamaCare — his signature achievement,” Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.) said on the Senate floor Wednesday.

{mosads}Republican Sens. John Barrasso (Wyo.), Roy Blunt (Mo.), John Thune (S.D.), Mike Johanns (Neb.) and Deb Fischer (Neb.) joined Boozman in his criticisms.

Thune said Obama’s remarks about the Affordable Care Act were a “drive-by of the law.”

Republicans have argued that the healthcare law is harming the economy and public by mandating coverage. They have demanded a full repeal of the law, and the House has taken more than 40 votes in an attempt to dismantle it.

“Scrapping this law should be a priority for the Senate,” Fischer said. “We must repeal and replace this law now. Anything short of that is unacceptable.”

Obama urged Republicans to move on during his speech Tuesday night.
