RNC targets minorities, women with new ad
The Republican National Committee is out with a new ad designed to appeal to women and minorities.
{mosads}The ad, released as part of the one-year anniversary of an RNC report that said the party must diversify, features a slew of females and minority voters describing why they’re Republicans.
The six-figure ad buy is running in 14 states with Senate races, a relatively small buy spread out across the country. But it’s running on cable networks like Bravo and the Food Network that have heavily female audiences, as well as on TVOne, a network targeting African-American audiences, and on some local affiliates of Telemundo.
“This ad campaign will highlight why so many million Americans vote Republican. It’s because we fight to empower people. It’s because we believe in the value of every person. It’s because we know that each American should have the chance to create their own American Dream,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement.
The RNC is making a big push this week to show they’re on the way to achieving the goals laid out in their “Growth and Opportunity Project” report.
The report, generated by top Republicans in the wake of the party’s 2012 losses, laid out hundreds of things the party needed to do better to compete nationwide. That included making inroads with women, minorities and younger voters as well as improvements in data, tech and field operations.
