Landrieu, Homeland secretary to push cybersecurity, energy jobs
Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson will promote jobs in the cybersecurity and energy sectors of Louisiana Friday.
Landrieu and Johnson will visit two tech firms in Louisiana’s cyber corridor to see the work they are doing to creating high-paying tech jobs.
Later Friday, Landrieu and Johnson will visit with top military brass from installations across Louisiana to discuss how the state can offer its growing tech workforce and energy resources to help make the military more energy secure and boost job creation.
Landrieu faces a tough reelection race this year and has been hit by Republicans for not being pro-energy.
The vulnerable Democrat has pushed her energy chops in a number of her campaign ads, more recently touting her new post as chairwoman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
