Newest Palin, Jill Hadassah, comes with 2 names and 4 legs

The Palin family is adding a new member to the mix — a dog that has not one name, but two.

Jill Hadassah is joining Sarah Palin and her clan, the former Alaska governor announced in a Facebook post on Monday.

{mosads}“Our new four-legged love, Jill Hadassah, comes to us with great training under her collar by our friend in Iowa Becky Beach and her Puppy Jake Foundation, along with Canine Craze in Des Moines,” Palin said of the pooch, adopted by the Palins over the weekend.

The Puppy Jake Foundation trains service dogs to help wounded veterans, along with families with special needs. Palin says Jill Hadassah has been trained to be a “buddy” to her 6-year-old son, Trig, who has Down syndrome.

Photos accompanying the Facebook post show the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate smiling as she hugs the black canine.

No word on the inspiration for Jill Haddasah’s name.
