GOP lawmaker reports voting irregularities
Rep. Scott Rigell’s (R-Va.) office is reporting voting irregularities in the Virginia’s 2nd District.
According to The Virginian-Pilot, Rigell’s office has received reports that 11 precincts are having problems with voting machines miscasting votes for Rigell’s opponent, Suzanne Patrick (D).
{mosads}Rigell’s race was not competitive, but if the voting machines wrongly reflect voters’ intentions, it could cause problems for the incumbent. His campaign has asked voters to double-check their summary page.
According to the report, the Virginia Board of Elections said long fingernails could affect the touch screens used on the voting machines.
