Iowa’s GOP governor wins historic sixth term

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad earned a historic sixth term on Tuesday, defeating Democratic contender Jack Hatch.

{mosads}The incumbent governor dominated Hatch in polls, consistently pulling double-digit leads over the Democratic state senator. 

Branstad is already the longest-serving governor in the United States, a title he has held since returning to office in 2011. He also served a 16-year stint through 1999.
