Ebola doctor arrives in Nebraska for treatment

A surgeon infected with Ebola while treating patients in Sierra Leone arrived to Nebraska Saturday for treatment.

Dr. Martin Salia, 44, was being transported to the Nebraska Medical Center after landing at an Air Force base in Omaha.

{mosads}He was diagnosed with the deadly virus on Monday and will be the third patient treated at the hospital where two others have successfully recovered.

Salia, reportedly a U.S. citizen born in Sierra Leone, will be the only Ebola patient in the U.S., less than one week after the last American infected with the disease recovered. Medical officials determined Salia was stable enough to fly Friday night.

He initially thought he had malaria or typhoid, but after two negative tests for Ebola the third came back positive.
