Front-runner for Clinton campaign manager job bows out
Guy Cecil, who had been considered a front-runner to become Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager if she launches a presidential run, said Sunday night that he is taking himself out of the running for the job.
Cecil was most recently the executive director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. While Senate Democrats suffered losses this year, Cecil was credited for picking up seats in 2012 and winning the 2010 Colorado Senate race for Sen. Michael Bennet (D). He was also a 2008 Clinton campaign aide.

{mosads}A remaining front-runner for the campaign manager job is Robby Mook, who managed Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s (D) 2013 campaign. A leak last month of Mook’s private emails by a Clinton supporter who did not want him to become campaign manager hinted at Mook’s front-runner status. EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock is also frequently mentioned as in the mix.
Cecil is not bowing out of the Clinton campaign mix completely. Politico, which first reported that Cecil was bowing out, also reports that Cecil has met with Clinton several times before and after the midterm elections. He reportedly discussed wanting to help her campaign from the outside, as well as lessons to be learned ahead of the effort.
