Webb’s PAC paid $100K to family members
Former Sen. Jim Webb’s (D-Va.) leadership PAC has paid nearly $100,000 to his immediate family members, approximately 10 percent of its total donations in the past few years.
{mosads}Webb has announced an exploratory run for president. His organization, Born Fighting PAC, paid more than $90,000 to his wife, Hong Le Webb, and his daughter, Amy Webb Hogan, most of that since he announced he would retire from Congress in 2010.
During that time, the PAC raised more than $900,000 but spent very little backing candidates. Hong Le Webb was paid mostly for “website services,” according to FEC filings, while Webb Hogan, who has served at times as a spokeswoman for her father, was paid mostly for “administrative consulting services.”
The payments were first reported by Business Insider.
