Republican National Committee hires new chief
The Republican National Committee has promoted finance director Katie Walsh to become the committee’s new chief of staff, running day-to-day operations under RNC chairman Reince Priebus.
{mosads}”As our Finance Director during the successful 2014 midterm cycle, Katie’s leadership helped the RNC break multiple fundraising records,” Priebus said in a statement. “Her tireless work ethic, team spirit, and proven fundraising abilities will make her an outstanding chief of staff.”
Walsh came on as the committee’s deputy finance director in 2013 and has previously worked for the National Republican Senatorial Committee and as Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) finance director.
“Chairman Priebus has offered a clear vision for the committee as we head toward 2016, and I’m excited to get to work as chief of staff to make that vision a reality —so that two years from now, there’s a Republican in the Oval Office,” said Walsh. “For all our success in 2014, we have a great deal of work to do for 2016, and that work has already begun.”
