RNC pulls in $7.1M for January

The Republican National Committee raised $7.1 million in January, the committee announced Friday morning.

{mosads}That leaves national Republicans with $5.6 million in the bank, up from $5 million as of the end of 2014, and $3.1 million in debt, down from $3.5 million at the beginning of the year.

“By making investments early and building on the success of last cycle, we’re going to ensure we have a robust ground game ready for our eventual nominee,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement.

“The RNC is the only organization capable of fielding a ground game in coordination with our presidential nominee, while also providing access to high quality data and proven voter-engagement and turnout strategies,” he continued. “In addition, it’s up to us to hold President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the Democrats accountable for their records. Even though Hillary Clinton has been in hiding, we will continue to make the case that America deserves better than a third term of the Obama-Clinton policies.”

The Democratic National Committee has yet to announce its January fundraising totals. The DNC is in the midst of its winter meetings, with President Obama set to deliver a speech to the organization Friday morning.
