Warren: We’ll have to see how progressive Clinton is
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said late Tuesday that she’s waiting to see how progressive Hillary Clinton will be during the likely Democratic presidential candidate’s campaign.
{mosads}”A lot of progressives have questions about whether [Clinton] will be a progressive warrior. What would you say to them?” MSNBC’s Al Sharpton asked Warren.
“You know – – I think that’s what we’ve got to see,” Warren answered. “I want to hear what she wants to run on and what she says she wants to do. That’s what campaigns are supposed to be about.”
“I’ll take it at that,” Sharpton responded.
Warren has insisted that she’s not running for president, despite progressive groups urging her to enter the race.
Some progressives are concerned that Clinton, the former secretary of State, is too close to Wall Street.
Though Warren signed a letter in 2013 with other female Democratic senators encouraging Clinton to run for president, Warren hasn’t been as effusive to Clinton in her public remarks as others in her party.
