Obama to Caitlyn Jenner: ‘It takes courage to share your story’
President Obama is applauding Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, who unveiled her new look on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine.
“It takes courage to share your story,” Obama tweeted Monday night.

Obama followed by tweeting a link to a website where people could share their stories “in the fight for LGBT rights.”
Obama thinks Caitlyn Jenner “has shown tremendous courage as she has undergone this transition in a very public way. That deserves our respect,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest said.
Apparently, there are no hard feelings between Obama and the former Olympian and reality TV star. After debuting her new Twitter account Monday, Jenner broke the president’s two-week-old record for the fastest time to reach 1 million followers.
As for Obama’s Twitter record, Earnest joked on Tuesday, “it was good while it lasted.”
Obama made history in January, when he became the first president to mention transgender individuals in a State of the Union address.
