Giuliani rips New York Stock Exchange for messaging
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani slammed New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) officials for their “atrocious” handling of a temporary shutdown of trading on Wednesday.
“The biggest problem here is they’re not explaining it. … The crisis management here is atrocious,” Giuliani said on Fox Business Network‘s “Cavuto: Coast to Coast.”
{mosads}He said NYSE officials “haven’t thought out basic crisis management.”
“You have to have thought out who is your speaker, who is your public face and who is working on it,” Giuliani said. “[Their] statement is a rather useless statement. It means nothing. It’s gobbledygook. Crisis management 101 — you give out specific information as soon as you can. … They must know something.”
“Look, if they don’t know something more than this then the place is being very poorly,” he said.
NYSE President Thomas Farley said on CNBC earlier this afternoon that he expects trading to resume before the exchange’s close.
