Kelly Osbourne makes racial remark while slamming Trump for racial remark
Kelly Osbourne found herself on the receiving end of a deluge of condemnation Tuesday after she made a racially charged comment about Hispanics while attempting to slam Donald Trump for his own racially charged comments about Hispanics.
The former “Fashion Police” host and current “Project Runway Junior” judge was guest co-hosting “The View” on Tuesday morning when she called out the 2016 Republican presidential candidate for his claim that he would win the Hispanic vote despite his controversial remarks on immigration.
“In what way does he think that people are going to vote for him after he’s just called them rapists and murderers?” Osbourne asked, later adding, “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?”
Osbourne’s stunned co-hosts immediately pushed back against her remark, with permanent panelist Rosie Perez telling the reality TV star, “Latinos are not only the only people doing that.”
Perez later apologized to Osbourne for being “sensitive,” saying that her “disdain should go to only Donald Trump.”
Social media users were less willing to forgive Osbourne, quickly tending the hashtag #QueridaKellyOsbourne with examples of other things Latinos do besides scrub toilets.
Maybe we can let @KellyOsbourne know why she needs to apologize. Starting with an explanation of what latinos do. #QueridaKellyOsbourne
