Video shows immediate aftermath of attempted train shooting

Video surfaced on Friday night showing the aftermath of the attempted mass killing that was foiled by American soldiers on vacation in Europe.

The incident occurred on a train heading from Amsterdam to Paris. Spencer Stone, a member of the U.S. Air Force, and Alek Skarlatos, of the U.S. National Guard, reportedly jumped on the suspect after hearing the sound of a gun loading inside a bathroom and seeing the man walk out with a machine gun.

{mosads}The video, allegedly shot by Skarlatos, shows a man lying on his stomach, with ankles and wrists bound. A weapon is also briefly seen, while the men discuss a missing pistol.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve on Saturday in Paris said the suspected attacker was armed with a Kalashnikov assault weapon, nine chargers, a Luger automatic pistol, a 9 mm charger and a box cutter. A Frenchman was the first to tackle the alleged assailant, the minister said.

The motive of the attack is not yet known, but the suspect is believed to have ties to terrorist groups, according to media reports.

Stone, among those who led the charge, had his neck and thumb cut by the attacker.

Skarlatos and friend Anthony Sadler, a college student from California, also tackled the gunman. The suspect was eventually arrested when the train stopped at a station in France.

Only three people were injured during the ordeal, which was described as quick and bloody, and a person can be heard moaning in pain on the quick video.

“I know, it’s OK,” a voice says. According to accounts, the voice apparently belongs to Stone. While bleeding himself, he helped another injured person.

“He just went over there and saved his life,” Sadler said in a later interview

Skarlatos, 22, returned from Afghanistan last month and was vacationing in Europe, he told Reuters
