Trump: ‘I’m the king of the tax code’
Billionaire businessman Donald Trump, the 2016 GOP White House front-runner, said Friday that he is more familiar with the U.S. tax code than anyone else.
“Nobody knows the tax code better than I do,” Trump said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

The real estate tycoon reiterated Friday that “hedge fund guys have to pay up” to get to their share of the tax burden. Referring to hedge fund managers as nothing more than paper pushers, Trump said he knew many of them.
“I have friends who laugh about how little they pay,” Trump said on MSNBC, saying he would roll out his own tax ideas over the next month and that they will include simplifications to put H&R Block “out of business” and getting rid of some deductions.
Trump said earlier this week that he was in favor of raising taxes on wealthy individuals like himself, apparently referring to a reduced tax burden by having earnings taxed as investment gains at a lower rate instead of income.
Meanwhile, Trump has said he is in favor of lowering taxes on corporations in order to fight inversions, where they reincorporate abroad to avoid taxes, to bring that money back to the U.S.
