Chelsea Clinton’s book signing draws fans of all ages

Chelsea Clinton wrote her book for kids, but it was the adults paying deepest deference to the former — and perhaps future — first daughter at her book signing Thursday evening.

A line of at least 400 stretched half a block down Connecticut Avenue in Northwest D.C. and curled around a corner. Inside the bookstore Politics & Prose, Clinton did exactly what her mother does on a typical campaign stop: She hugged children, smiled for photographers and accepted compliments from supporters.

“We were lucky enough to have a surprise visit from your dad at our house last weekend at a fundraiser,” he told Clinton.

“Well thanks for being a good host to him,” she replied.

Clinton wrote “It’s Your World” for 10- to 14-year-olds as a guide to help them engage in what she believes are the big challenges facing the world, such as climate change and gender equality.
Clinton’s mother, Hillary Clinton, is the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, though her poll numbers have slipped of late.
