Coldplay’s next album will reportedly feature an unexpected vocalist: President Obama.

{mosads}The commander in chief’s rendition of “Amazing Grace,” which he sang during his eulogy in June for one of the victims of the Charleston, S.C., church shootings, will be included in the British pop group’s upcoming album, The Sun newspaper reports.

Chris Martin, Coldplay’s frontman, told the U.K. newspaper, “We have a tiny clip of the president singing ‘Amazing Grace’ at that church.” The snippet will apparently be used as an interlude on the band’s seventh studio album “A Head Full of Dreams,” out next month.

A source described as close to Coldplay told The Sun the band had to get special permission to use the audio, saying, “Barack Obama wouldn’t let just anyone feature his vocals on the record, especially considering what a deeply emotional moment it was for him.”

Obama appears to be a Coldplay fan, having featured the band’s 2011 song, “Paradise,” on his presidential Spotify list earlier this year. Martin has said that Obama told him he also has some of Coldplay’s songs on his iPod.
