Obama roasts Larry David for his sunscreen habit
When Jerry Seinfeld introduces President Obama on his web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” he joked that the commander in chief has “gotten off just enough funny lines to qualify for getting on this show.”
{mosads}Obama shows off his comedy chops in the interview released Thursday when he teases “Seinfeld” TV series co-creator Larry David for his habits on the golf course.
“I love Larry. When we play golf, he’s a fair-skinned guy…” Obama tells Seinfeld over a cup of coffee in the White House mess.
“Oh, the sunscreen,” Seinfeld interrupts with a sigh.
“He lathers himself in sunscreen,” Obama continues. “And it’s dripping, it’s caked white all over. And it catches parts of his ears and then there’s big globs of it.”
Obama has played golf with David a number of times, most recently in August during the president’s annual vacation on Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.
White House reporters caught a rare glimpse of the president on the course with David at Farm Neck Golf Club. David yelled out in frustration when he failed to hit a ball out of the sand trap and onto the green.
David has poked fun at his fair skin on his HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” In one episode, he’s forced to attend a funeral with a smiley face sunburned into his forehead.
