Sanders: Even on our worst day, we are 100 times better than GOP
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders received the loudest applause of the night during Thursday’s primary debate in New Hampshire when he aimed his fire not at rival Hillary Clinton but at the Republican Party.
“On our worst days … we are 100 times better than any Republican candidate,” the Vermont senator said, before his voice was lost under the whooping, whistling crowd.
{mosads}Sanders prefaced his comments — which came near the end of the night — by offering a peace gesture to the former secretary of State, whom he had argued with fiercely throughout the night.
“Sometimes in campaigns, things get a little bit out of hand,” Sanders said. “I happen the respect the secretary very much. I hope it’s mutual.”
