Trump: Wall Street Journal has it out for me

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says he trails Ted Cruz in a new Wall Street Journal poll because the publication has it out for him.

“I think somebody at the Wall Street Journal doesn’t like me,” he told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski during a MSNBC town hall in Charleston, S.C.

{mosads}“I think most of the polls were taken after the debate and they worked out good for me,” Trump said. “I have never done well with the Wall Street Journal poll. I don’t know. They do these small samples and I don’t know exactly what it represents.”

The Wall Street Journal released a poll earlier Wednesday showing Cruz leading Trump by 2 points nationwide. Trump had held the top spot in 31 consecutive national polls before it.

Trump reiterated his threat to sue the Texas senator.

“I’ve had great success with lawsuits,” he said. “I’ve had great success in things I do, and I don’t know that we’re going to have a lawsuit. We certainly want to keep somebody honest. Like as an example, I’m pro-life and he said, ‘He’s not pro-life.’ He can’t say that.”

Trump added that he had some warm feelings toward Cruz until his actions during the Iowa caucuses earlier this month, when the Texan’s campaign spread a rumor that rival Ben Carson was dropping his bid.

“What he did to Ben Carson I thought was disgraceful in Iowa,” he said. “When he said, ‘[Carson] was out of the race.’ I thought that was bad. I thought the voter fraud document he did was horrendous. And he’s told lies. He tells lies.”
