Kasich: Cruz camp tried to ‘strong-arm and bully people’ to win delegates
Republican presidential candidate John Kasich hit rival Ted Cruz’s campaign on Monday for the tactics it uses to win delegates.
“The Cruz campaign tried to strong-arm and bully people, and they lost everything,” Kasich told reporters in Albany, N.Y., on Monday while discussing Michigan.

Over the weekend in Michigan, Cruz ran eight delegates for eight committee spots and lost all of them, CNN reported Saturday. The Michigan delegation chose both a supporter of front-runner Donald Trump and of Kasich for two spots on the rules committee. The Cruz campaign did not win either of the seats, according to CNN.
Kasich on Monday said the GOP contest is about accumulating delegates, adding that it’s now clear the hunt for delegates really matters. He also said he doesn’t know what Trump means when he says the battle for delegates is unfair.
“We’re out there making sure we win delegates and get people on important committees,” Kasich said.
Trump’s convention manager Paul Manafort on Sunday accused the Cruz campaign of using “Gestapo tactics” to win delegates.
“He’s threatening; you go to these county conventions, and you see the tactics, Gestapo tactics, the scorched-earth tactics,” Manafort said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
He said the Texas senator isn’t playing by the rules, saying the campaign doesn’t care about the Republican Party and “if they don’t get what they want, they blow up.”
