London elects first Muslim mayor
London elected a Muslim mayor on Friday, making Sadiq Khan the first Muslim mayor of a major Western capital.
Khan is the son of Pakistani immigrants and a member of the Labour Party.
He beat out Conservative candidate Zac Goldsmith by about 13 percentage points, the BBC reports.
