Jeb Bush: Trump’s taco bowl tweet insensitive and insulting

Jeb Bush slammed presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump for his Cinco de Mayo taco bowl tweet, calling the post “insensitive” and insulting.

“What Trump did was so insensitive,” the former Florida governor told Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad recently in an interview highlighted by The Huffington Post.

{mosads}”First, not all Hispanics are Mexican,” said Bush, who has said he won’t vote for Trump in November after their bitter primary battle.

“Secondly, not all Hispanics eat tacos. Thirdly, showing your sensitivity by eating an American dish is the most insensitive thing you can do. Fourthly, to say this, next to all things he already said, is a further insult. It’s like eating a watermelon and saying, ‘I love African-Americans,’ ” Bush said.

“This guy,” he said. “If we lose in November, we Republicans have ourselves to blame.”

Trump has received flak from across the political spectrum for his May 5 tweet of himself eating a taco bowl inside his office in Trump Tower, captioned in part, “I love Hispanics!”

“He’s trying,” Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus remarked on the tweet. Vice President Biden panned the tweet as unserious, saying, “He is a smarter guy that this.”
