Police: Gunman traveled to Orlando to kill ‘The Voice’ star
Police say the gunman who shot “The Voice” star Christina Grimmie traveled to Orlando specifically to do so.
{mosads}Orlando Police Chief John Mina on Saturday said the 21-year-old white male did not appear to know Grimmie personally and may have been a deranged fan, The Associated Press reported.
Grimmie, 22, was fatally shot while signing autographs after a performance Friday night in Orlando, Fla.
Her brother immediately tackled the gunman, who shot and killed himself.
The singer was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead hours later.
She competed on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2014.
Grimmie first drew to prominence on YouTube, where she had more than 3,000,000 subscribers.
