Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Sunday highlighted a disconnect he sees between the mainstream media and the general public.
“Despite what the establishment thinks in talking to each other, it turns out that ordinary Americans want real change,” the Vermont senator tweeted.
“What the mainstream media has got to understand is that they are far removed from the reality of where many American people are.”

Sanders has been fighting for a series of progressive proposals and is looking to shape the Democratic Party’s platform. His proposals include a $15 minimum wage and a single-payer healthcare system.
He has vowed to continue fighting for his progressive platforms, calling on presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton during an interview earlier Sunday to “stand up” and “be bolder” on policies involving healthcare and education if she wants to win over his supporters.
