Trump: Warren’s ‘got a fresh mouth’
The only thing Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has going for her is “a fresh mouth,” Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Monday.
“You don’t have to go with Pocahontas,” said Trump, who has questioned Warren’s statements about her Native American heritage. “She is the worst senator in the U.S. Senate.
{mosads}“She’s got a fresh mouth,” he said. “Other than that, she’s got nothing going.”
Trump made the comments at a town hall in Roanoke, Va., hours before Warren is set to address the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
He and Warren have repeatedly tangled over Twitter and in a series of addresses referencing one another.
The latest insult is likely to give Warren new material when she addresses Democratic delegates Monday night in a highly anticipated speech in Philadelphia.
Trump also criticized Clinton’s decision to pick Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine as her vice presidential candidate, saying it illustrated her “bad judgment.”
“Hillary Clinton has bad judgment. She shouldn’t have picked this guy,” Trump said. “He’s the exact opposite of what all of the Bernie people want.
“You could have picked a liberal person. She could have had party unity,” he continued. “She didn’t pick somebody representative of what’s going on.”
“We can’t have another president with bad judgment,” Trump added.
Clinton picked Kaine over Warren, among others. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Sunday said he would have preferred to see Clinton pick Warren or another more liberal choice.
