White House map shows ISIS expansion in past two years
The number of countries in which the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is operating has more than doubled since 2014, according to a classified White House map obtained Tuesday by NBC News.
Two years ago, when the U.S. first began its campaign against the terror group, ISIS had a presence in seven countries. That figure rose to 13 in 2015, and today the White House document shows that ISIS is operating in 18 countries.
