Trump: Low-rated ‘Morning Joe’ is ‘sad and irrelevant’

Donald Trump slammed MSNBC host Joe Scarborough as “sad and irrelevant” Wednesday after Scarborough called on Republican leaders to remove Trump as the party’s presidential nominee.

{mosads}”Morning Joe’s weakness is its low ratings. I don’t watch anymore but I heard he went wild against Rudy Giuliani and #2A – sad & irrelevant!” Trump tweeted, referring to the Second Amendment in shorthand.

Scarborough, a former Republican congressman, has been a consistent critic of Trump throughout his presidential campaign.

He quickly responded to Trump’s tweet: “Donald thanks for continuing to obsess over our irrelevant show that you watch everyday. Highest ratings ever. Glad!”

On Wednesday, Scarborough called on Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Republican leadership to denounce Trump following remarks — which many interpreted as a joke, but which others saw as threatening — about the possibility of “Second Amendment folks” taking action against Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“A bloody line has been crossed that cannot be ignored. At long last, Donald Trump has left the Republican Party few options but to act decisively and get this political train wreck off the tracks before something terrible happens,” Scarborough wrote in an op-ed in The Washington Post.

And on his show, Scarborough accused leaders of letting Trump destroy the Republican Party.

“We’ve said from the very beginning, when he started blowing himself up, when Paul Ryan endorsed him, that it’s only going to get worse. And it just keeps getting worse, doesn’t it?” he said
