GOP insiders: Trump tax plan could move fast
A Republican-controlled Congress could quickly pass Donald Trump’s tax reform package if he is elected president, GOP insiders tell The Hill.
Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist said Trump’s plan and House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) tax proposal “have influenced each other, both in helpful ways.”
{mosads}“A Trump-Paul Ryan-Mitch McConnell tax plan could move quicker, more rapidly, than Kemp-Roth did,” Norquist added.
The Kemp-Roth tax cut, named for former Rep. Jack Kemp (R-N.Y.) and former Sen. William Roth (R-Del.), became law less than a month after it was introduced in the House during the summer of 1981.
Trump rolled out his tax plan earlier this week in a speech.
