What’s the best way to respond to a slick Hollywood plea for American’s to vote in November for the candidate of Hollywood’s choice?

A cheeky response parodying their celebrity ‘betters’ set against the same stark white backdrop as the Hollywood production that included Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo.

“On Tuesday November 8th this country will make one the most important decisions in its history” the video begins with lots of famous folks dramatically reminding the viewers of the date.

The parody begins with a witty parade of people saying had no idea Election Day was November 8th unless famous actors told them that:

“Thanks famous actors.”

“I had no idea.”

“I was thinking it was sometime in December, maybe January?”

“Wait, it’s this year?”

The responses were delivered by a wide variety of people set to the same dramatic piano music in the background as the Hollywood production.

“Thanks famous actors, because it is times like these that we need famous Hollywood actors to guide us…”

The video was the brainchild of John Brabender, a Republican strategist working on several governor and congressional House and Senate races across the country, “I just could not resist doing this,” he said.

“As soon as I saw the Hollywood video, I thought a tongue and cheek response to the notion that the Hollywood elite believed they had so much influence on the American voter was needed.

The video which has no connection to the Trump campaign concludes with the participants thanking Hollywood for one thing, reminding everyone to vote and a parting shot at the elites; “Thanks … for nothing.”

Avengers director Joss Whedon was behind the video via a Super PAC called Save the Day expressly devoted to “the idea that voting is a necessary and heroic act.”
