Clinton, Trump tied in latest national poll
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are tied atop the latest Washington Post/ABC News tracking poll released early Wednesday
{mosads}Each candidate has 46 percent support among likely voters in the new poll. Trump led Clinton by 1 percentage point in the same poll on Tuesday — his first lead since May. Clinton, meanwhile, had a double-digit lead over the Republican nominee just more than one week ago.
Trump now leads Clinton on perceptions of honesty and trustworthiness, pollsters found.
Forty-six percent of likely voters say the Republican nominee is the more honest and trustworthy candidate, while 38 percent picked Clinton. The two major party nominees were tied on that question in September.
The survey of 1,182 likely voters, conducted from Oct. 28 through 31, has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
It comes the week after FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to lawmakers alerting them of recently discovered emails that may be “pertinent” to the investigation into Clinton’s private email server and whether the former secretary of State mishandled classified information.
