Poll: Trump, Clinton in dead heat in Iowa
Hillary Clinton is edging Donald Trump by one point in Iowa, where Trump led comfortably only one month ago, a new poll finds.
{mosads}A Loras College survey released Saturday found Clinton with 44 percent support and Trump at 43 percent. Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Jill Stein each take three percent.
Trump once looked like a lock to win Iowa, a traditionally blue battleground that has only gone for the Republican once in the past seven elections.
He led by 6.5 points there in the RealClearPolitics average in late September, but that lead has since been reduced to 2.4 points.
Both candidates are viewed negatively, but Trump is deep underwater, with a net favorability rating of negative 36, compared to only negative eight for Clinton.
A majority, 56 percent, say they are not satisfied with either candidate.
Sen. Bernie Sanders will campaign for Clinton in Ames on Saturday, while Trump will swing though Sioux City for a rally on Sunday.
In the race for Senate, incumbent Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is running well ahead of Trump, leading Democrat Patty Judge, 53 to 37 percent.
The Loras College poll of 500 likely voters was conducted between Nov. 1 and Nov. 3 and has a 4.4 percentage point margin of error.
