WATCH: Trump Va. state director talks strategy

Donald Trump’s Virginia director says the campaign is looking away from the Washington D.C. suburbs in the northern part of the state and turning its focus elsewhere.

Mike Rubino told The Hill’s Molly K. Hooper the Trump campaign isn’t spending energy trying to boost the GOP nominee’s numbers in NoVa — Northern Virginia — and is instead focusing on “RoVa — the rest of Virginia.”

{mosads}”There are 54 GOP-leaning counties that typically only vote about 60 percent turnout, we’re going to push that turnout upwards into 70, 75, 80 percent,” Rubino said.

Democratic strategist Andrew Feldman disagrees with the Trump campaign’s assessment, pointing to Hillary Clinton’s steady lead in polling.

“[In] what they call the polls of polls, Hillary is still up 5 points,” Feldman said, referring to the Real Clear Politics average.

Trump and his running mate Mike Pence, as well as Trump’s children Donald Jr. and Ivanka, have been dispatched to the state to rally supporters in the final few days before Election Day.

Take a look at the video above to hear Rubino and Feldman in their own words.
