Top Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway blasted Mitt Romney Sunday, questioning if he would be a loyal secretary of State.
Romney, who is on the list to be the nation’s chief diplomat in the new administration, was a vocal critic of Trump throughout the campaign.
“I’m all for party unity, but I’m not sure we have to pay for that with the secretary of State position,” Conway said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Conway said she has received feedback from those who feel “betrayed” that Trump would nominate someone who was so vehemently opposed to his campaign.
“I’m just saying, we don’t even know if Mitt Romney voted for Donald Trump,” she said.
“I think there are concerns that those of us that are loyal have, and we want a secretary of State who’s loyal to the president.”
Conway also questioned Romney’s qualifications.
“Gov. Romney, in the last four years, has he been around the globe doing something on behalf of the United States of which we’re unaware?” Conway asked.
