Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) predicted Tuesday that people will die as a result of the Department of Homeland Security mistakenly granting about 750 people citizenship.
{mosads}During an interview with “Fox and Friends,” Gohmert said that immigration officials were “intentionally, knowingly, wantonly putting people in danger” with the error.
“There are literally people who will be dying because of this level of incompetence,” Gohmert said. “We can’t get these people out quickly enough.”
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson told Congress in September that about 750 people who were marked for deportation were accidentally granted citizenship because their fingerprints were not on file with his agency.
