Gingrich speaks for an hour

Apparently there was a reason Sarah Palin was not allowed to speak at Monday’s Senate House Dinner: Newt Gingrich used up all the time.

Gingrich’s stemwinder of a speech, which just ended, clocked in at 56 minutes, according to my trusty recorder. It lasted long after desert was finished and much of the booze had worn off. Many of the tables were mostly empty by the end, as a steady stream of guests left early.

Gingrich might want to be a little more succint if he’s running for president.
