Dems should be thanking Trump for his immigration ban

Opponents of President Trump were at it again with more protests this weekend, this time because of his decision to put a stay on admitting refugees from seven countries.  Countries, by the way, that President Obama flagged as being of particular concern, but nobody wants to talk about that.

It’s also worth noting that Jimmy Carter froze immigration from Iran after the hostage crisis in 1979.  Out of a population of more than 50,000, 15,000 Iranians were deported from the country and an appeals court upheld his action.

{mosads}This is different though, because it’s President Trump and the perpetuated lie by his opponents, including much of the media, is that he’s out to get everyone. Before the next four years are up, they’ll probably have their followers believing that he hates puppies and babies, too.

Contrary to what you hear from the president’s opponents those of us who agree with his executive order don’t hate the kids of refugees. We just care about the safety of our own a little bit more.

America can’t afford to get it wrong.

FBI Director James Comey (specifically referencing Syria) has said the U.S. is essentially handicapped in its ability to screen refugees due to a lack of intelligence. “There is risk associated of bringing anybody in from the outside, but specifically from a conflict zone like that,” Comey said.

It’s extremely difficult to vet these people, given there is no reliable database we can check them against. President Trump is smart to take a time-out and see if there is a way to improve the vetting process so we can be confident that these agencies can keep us safe.

People tend to have short term memory, and it’s worth reminding those who like to protest first and think later that 12 of the 19 hijackers responsible for killing nearly 3,000 people on 9/11 lived in or had connections to Palm Beach County.

They passed us as we went about our daily activities. They went to the bank, the grocery store, and Target, where they likely scoured the dollar bin right next to us for the same junk we fill our carts with.

President Trump this week tweeted: “Senators should focus their energies on ISIS, illegal immigration, and border security instead of always looking to start World War III.”

A bit of an exaggeration?

Not when you consider that the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015 were the worst in France since WWII, and three of the terrorists, including the mastermind behind the attacks, came in as refugees.

The terrorists who attacked Brussels in 2016, the most deadly attack in Belgian history, are connected to the terrorist cell in Paris.

Let that sink in.

The terrorist attack in San Bernardino, Calif., the worst attack in our country since 9/11, was also executed by a married couple — the wife having emigrated to our country already radicalized.

I was in a coffee shop in D.C. this weekend where I overheard a young girl, likely fresh out of an overpriced college where she got an honorary degree in liberal logic, explain to her coffee buddy what a sanctuary city is, and how they are likely to get defunded: “So, basically, we’re not going to get money if we’re nice to immigrants.”

No, “basically” you and your family will be protected from illegal immigrants who’ve been convicted of multiple crimes, deported multiple times and present a danger to you, your family, and your community.

You’re welcome.
