Report: Rick Davis picked Palin as McCain’s Veep

Rick Davis, a D.C. lobbyist and consultant on John McCain (R-Ariz.) presidential campaign, convinced the Republican nominee to pick Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) as his running mate, John McCaslin reports.

Citing a “source close to Mr. McCain,” McCaslin writes that Davis was totally smitten by Palin.

“It was all his doing. He was completely snowed by Palin,” the source told McCaslin. “He was totally taken by her.”

McCain, McCaslin writes, wanted Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.).
