NBC: White House rewriting Trump ban after court loss

White House attorneys are working on rewriting the language of President Trump’s executive order on immigration, according to NBC News.

A senior administration official told the network on Thursday that work on the new draft began several days before the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday refused to reinstate Trump’s order, which suspended the U.S. refugee resettlement program and block people from seven nations with Muslim populations from coming to the U.S.

{mosads}Several sources also told NBC News that the White House legal team is working on the language that would be favorable to the federal courts.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday issued a unanimous decision that keeps in place a suspension of Trump’s order.

“We hold that the government has not shown a likelihood of success on the merits of its appeal, nor has it shown that failure to enter a stay would cause irreparable injury, and we therefore deny its emergency motion for a stay,” the court said.

Immediately following the ruling, Trump took to Twitter to blast the court for shooting down his order.
