Trump vows ‘repeal & replace of ObamaCare’ is not dead

President Trump early Sunday vowed that the “repeal & replace of ObamaCare” is not dead, pointing to the “love and strength” in the Republican Party.

“Anybody (especially Fake News media) who thinks that Repeal & Replace of ObamaCare is dead does not know the love and strength in R Party!” he tweeted.

Trump added in a subsequent tweet that talks are ongoing.

Talks on Repealing and Replacing ObamaCare are, and have been, going on, and will continue until such time as a deal is hopefully struck.

{mosads}His tweets follow a week in which he and the conservative House Freedom Caucus turned on each other in the wake of a failed Republican effort to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

Trump last Thursday threatened to back primary election challengers to the Freedom Caucus members who torpedoed the American Health Care Act.

Trump said the conservatives who handed him a stinging legislative loss had “hurt the entire Republican agenda.”

He lumped them in with Democrats and pledged in a tweet to “fight” them in the 2018 midterms.

Conservatives quickly fired back, criticizing Trump for becoming a victim of Washington’s “swamp” and reminding the White House that the healthcare plan it backed polled a dismal 17 percent support.

“It didn’t take long for the swamp to drain President Trump,” tweeted Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.), a Freedom Caucus member.

A top Trump aide on Saturday called for a primary challenge to defeat Amash.

Dan Scavino, Trump’s director of social media, tweeted that Amash is “a big liability” and urged Trump backers to “defeat him in primary.”
