Donald Trump Jr. won’t run for NY governor in 2018
Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of President Trump, will not run for governor of New York in 2018, Trump Jr. told The Associated Press in an interview published Tuesday.
“Maybe someday,” he said in the interview. “It’s not something I’m doing now. But you never know, it’s fascinating stuff.”
{mosads}The comments come after The New York Post’s Page Six column last week reported that Trump Jr. “is interested in running for office.”
In the new interview with the AP, Trump Jr. echoed Page Six’s source, saying running for governor would be more appealing than running for mayor of New York.
“If I was, New York City mayor is much less interesting to me than perhaps other things like governor of a state,” said Trump Jr.
“That’s not saying I’m running. It’s just saying that, hey, if I ever did something, I’d probably be more interested in something like that.”
