Katrina Pierson: Trump needs White House ‘shake-up’

President Trump’s former campaign spokeswoman called for a drastic shake-up of White House staff, saying the president should start “at the very top.”

“What is happening today, especially with all of these leaks, no one’s been held accountable,” Katrina Pierson said Monday on Fox News. “And that is the chief of staff’s responsibility, and I believe that needs to be addressed.”

Pierson’s comments come amid reports that Trump is weighing a broad staff shake-up at his White House. Communications director Michael Dubke tendered his resignation on May 18, though his last day has not yet been determined and a successor has not been chosen.

Dubke joined the White House in February as one of the few staffers who did not have a prior relationship with Trump.

His departure comes as the White House ponders broader staff changes to help stanch the damage from deepening crises surrounding Trump associates’ alleged ties to Russia and Russian meddling in the presidential race.

Pierson, who played a visible role in Trump’s campaign, was reportedly offered the deputy press secretary job in the White House after Trump was elected, but ultimately turned it down
