Trump Jr. slams NFL’s Roger Goodell after criticism of president
Donald Trump Jr. on Sunday slammed Roger Goodell after the NFL commissioner criticized President Trump for his comments about football players who knelt during the national anthem.
“If only Roger Goodell cared as much about domestic abuse and traumatic brain injury as he does about disrespecting America. #nfl,” Trump Jr. tweeted.

The jab comes after Goodell issued a statement on Saturday firing back at the president, who earlier said NFL players who protest during the anthem should be forced to leave the field.

“Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities,” Goodell said.
Trump Jr.’s tweet, which alludes to ongoing controversies plaguing the NFL involving traumatic brain injury and domestic abuse committed by football players, also comes the same day numerous players across the league protested during Sunday’s games.
President Trump again condemned the protests, tweeting that while linking arms in solidarity, as some players have done, is fine, “kneeling is not acceptable.”
The president also retweeted a message that seemed to call on people to boycott the NFL.
